Foot scanning promotes the occupational health of our employees

Jaakkoo-Taara wants to invest in its staff’s occupational health and well-being by offering various health-supporting initiatives. In September, all interested Jaakkoo-Taara employees had the opportunity to have their feet scanned during the workday to receive the best-fitting insoles for their safety shoes. The foot scanning was carried out in collaboration with Würth.

The scanning technique we used was the JALAS FootStopService (FSS), developed by medical specialists. It uses pressure-mapping software to measure arch type and pressure points. Our employees simply had to remove their shoes, and the machine completed the scan quickly.

The measurement results were recorded so that next time when ordering new insoles, there will be no need for another scan. Instead, our employees can directly order new, well-fitting insoles for their safety shoes.

Various foot issues, such as pain, strain injuries, or heel spurs, can be prevented with custom-made insoles. The measurement also reveals whether the foot arch is normal, boarded, or flatted. In factory work, employees spend a lot of time on their feet, so investing in the right insoles for safety shoes is an investment in occupational health and the prevention of long-term foot problems.
