QUALITY

Quality as the guiding principle of products and operations

Quality is the foundation of our company’s business: it is an integral part of our everyday processes and the way we all work. We manage our operations on the principle of continuous improvement, based on the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, and in line with the policies and targets set by the senior management. We monitor and comply with the laws and regulations governing our business, as well as the requirements of our customers.

Our quality management organisation ensures that all these requirements are met and that our products are always high in quality. We have ten people working in our quality management organisation.

We aim to be a pioneering packaging manufacturer in terms of technology and quality.

Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)

The safety of packaging material and other contact materials is one of the aspects of the safety of food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. The packaging must be as safe as the product itself, and packaging must be designed with the entire life cycle of the product in mind. When we manufacture contact materials, we comply with good production practices based on the applicable legislation and regulations, as well as our own risk assessments.

As a part of GMP:

  • We ensure that our products and the components used in them are traceable. This enables us to respond to possible product recalls, whether they occur at our initiative or that of our suppliers.
  • We select the safest materials to minimise the transmission of odours, flavours and harmful compounds from the packaging.
  • We have hygiene guidelines, which we follow and keep up to date.
  • We regularly verify the safety and sensory characteristics of our products by commissioning an external laboratory to study the materials we use the most and the food contents. We help and advise our customers on processes to examine their packaging.
  • We document every work phase, from line control (LC) to completion of the work.

Quality Management (QM)

Quality management means maintaining and managing product and service quality so that it conforms to requirements. We ensure compliance by training our personnel, raising awareness through active communication and developing our company’s processes. The key goals of quality management are customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. Continuous improvement means building quality into processes by eliminating errors, waste and defects in operations. We always seek to identify the best working methods and create standard operating procedures based on them. We train our employees so that work is done consistently, irrespective of the person doing it. Audits and customer feedback increase our awareness of the quality of our processes. We know the critical control points in our process thanks to risk assessments, and this also forms the basis of our self-monitoring plan.

Quality Assurance (QA)

Quality assurance encompasses all the activities required to ensure that products are safe, functional and acceptable when the customer receives them. Our quality assurance focuses on preventing defects from occurring and ensuring compliance. Most of our processes involve measuring instruments that help to keep the quality in line with the customer’s requirements. Continuous quality assurance helps us to ensure the correctness of packaging materials, from an approved draft all the way to the finished product.

Quality Control (QC)

Quality control involves checking samples as agreed with our customers. Quality control grants final approval for a batch of products based on samples of the work.

Most work is also checked using Pixel Proof equipment, which compares the work with the approved draft or material from the customer’s material bank. Pixel Proof also enables us to measure the height of individual points in braille characters. A quality inspection report is issued on each inspection.

We can also handle reception inspections on the customer’s behalf if the customer so desires.
