Responsible and environmentally friendly business

Taking the environment into account and operating responsibly are at the very heart of our business. Our environmental management system helps us measure the impact of our operations and reduce the environmental burden arising from production. In addition, our environmental management system, which is certified in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard, provides operating methods that benefit all customer segments.

In 2020, we set ourselves the primary objective of reducing our carbon footprint by 60% by 2025. We will reach and surpass this objective ahead of schedule.

  • We invest in reducing energy consumption by using newer technology and more efficient materials.
  • We comply with a responsible sourcing policy, which means that the environmental responsibility of our selected suppliers takes priority, both in terms of materials and transport.  
  • We analyse every work phase in order to reduce material waste, and we reuse and recycle waste materials.
  • From the beginning of 2020 we started our transilion towards using energy from renewable sources. This includes our use of electricity and heating.

FSC®- / PEFC™ raw materials for packaging

Our operations are FSC and PEFC certified. Forest certificates enable us to verify the origin of wood, so we can trust that the raw material is from sustainably and responsibly managed forests. This helps to safeguard biodiversity for future generations.

By choosing a PEFC or FSC packaging material for cartons, supplements or labels, our customers can support ecologically, socially and economically sustainable forestry.

Health and Safety

Occupational safety and wellbeing are essential aspects of everyday management, in which problem prevention plays a key role. We offer safe working conditions that support our employees’ working capacity. We aim for zero accidents, and safety takes precedence in everything we do.

We endeavour to promote the physical and mental wellbeing of our employees, including in their leisure time, and we have various practices to support this. Our employees also have access to comprehensive occupational health services.

We make continuous efforts to ensure good work ergonomics and chemical safety, and we have integrated regular safety rounds into our operations. Our health and safety themes, which vary from season to season and always cover a relevant issue, are one way of reminding the personnel of the safety practices in the workplace.
